About Us
UBC Student Bands is a student-led music community dedicated to bringing musicians together through the joy of making music. Founded in 2026, we welcome UBC students from all faculties and experience levels, whether you're an experienced performer, rediscovering your love for music, or looking to try something new.
Our community currently consists of two ensembles: our Concert Band, which brings together woodwind, brass, and percussion players to explore a diverse repertoire of classical works, film scores, popular music, and seasonal favourites; and our Vocal Ensemble, which offers singers an opportunity to explore harmonies and perform a variety of musical styles. Together, our ensembles provide opportunities for students to develop their musical skills, connect with others, and create lasting memories through rehearsals, performances, and social events.
We believe music should be accessible to everyone. Beyond making music, we strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment where students can build friendships, express their creativity, and experience a sense of belonging within the UBC community.
